Yoga, Movement, and Somatic Healing

Movement is how I listen, Yoga is how I remember who I am

Yoga, Movement, and Somatic Healing

Movement as Medicine

Yoga as the Path and the Arrival

For me, movement is life. Without it, I cannot imagine being here.

Yoga is the foundation of everything I do. It supports me, teaches me, nourishes and reveals me. It’s both the path and the destination – the state of union and the way we arrive there.

There are many paths within Yoga, and each one honours the uniqueness of the person walking it. This is what I love the most: Yoga meets you exactly where you are. It adapts to your body, your breath, your life. It invites an intimate, evolving relationship with yourself – a return to who and what you truly are, and what you are not.

At its core, Yoga is relational intelligence. It is the integration of body, mind and breath. It is the understanding that we are a part of nature, not separate from it.

And when we live in rhythm with these natural laws – within and around us – we feel supported. We heal.

I move not just because I have a body, but because it brings me joy to honour it. Movement becomes sacred when we understand it through the lens of Yoga – energetically, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

This is somatic awareness.

This is somatic healing.

We begin to ask: How is my body responding to the life I’m living? What relationship does it have with my choices, my words, my habits? What truth is it holding? What wisdom is it offering?

The body doesn’t lie. It holds what the mind moves too quickly to grasp. When we move with intention, with listening, the body becomes the gateway to healing – not separate from the mind, but deeply informing it. The more we come into the body, the more grounded and wise the mind becomes.

Yoga is where the presence returns. Where we begin again. And where we remember why we’re here – uniquely, as ourselves.

You will find me teaching regular yoga classes at ChiKin Yoga and Pilates in Bacchus Marsh, and at The Studio Ballan.

I offer Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Tantric Hatha and Yoga Nidra.

I also hold private 1:1 sessions in Personalised Somatic Healing – a space to gently reconnect with your body and it’s wisdom.

Somatic Healing offers a space for the body to soften, unwind, and let go of long held patterns – physical, emotional and energetic. Through movement, breath, stillness and awareness, we support the body in remembering how to release, re-pattern, and return to its natural state of ease.

If you’re curious or ready to begin, contact Suse to book a session.
