A physical practice to experience how your thoughts, emotions and actions interact with your physical body.

Yoga – The Physical Practice

Susie draws from the vast teachings and wisdom of Yoga and the tradition she is linked to, to work with your body, mind and breath. Susie has also been a daily practitioner of Yoga for many years and has experiential wisdom from personal somatic experience and healing which she continues to be committed to, to support you on your unique journey. The more present we can be to ourselves, the more present we can be to others.

Her focus will be on you and how your unique experiences affect you for long term health and wellbeing. Movement supports the release of past experiences held, whilst breath practices support the mind and nervous system to settle into new and varied experiences. As we grow and develop and receive information from the body, we have the opportunity to interrupt the patterns of the mind, our emotions and our habitual movement. Each interruption allows us to feel something different, which ultimately, if we continue to show up to practice, leads to long lasting change and transformation.

Why Movement?

There are so many reasons why movement is beneficial for the physical body. There are many more reasons becoming apparent as to why movement is also beneficial for the mind. This is why our emotional experiences need to be integrated on a physical level. Through how we attend to the body and how we move, we can impact our mind and emotions greatly.

Working somatically means using mindful movement and breath to feel where our body is possibly holding on for us, or where our body needs support to strengthen. This exploration into the physical, gifts us time and space for our mental and emotional patterns to give us information via physical sensation about how the way we are moving through life is affecting us. This information we receive creates an intimate relationship with self that becomes a self care, self knowledge love affair. The more we explore, the more we feel. The more we feel, the more we understand. The more we understand, the more we can surrender to the intelligence of our body as we move through life experiences, integrating as we go, carrying less pain from old trauma patterns and memories.
